Learn some worthwhile tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle by attending the First Hawaiian Bank Big Island PrimeTime Wellness Fair on Thursday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Edith Kanaka’ole Stadium and Aunty Sally’s Luau Hale at ­­­­­350 Kalanikoa St. in Hilo. Admission is free, and the fair is open to the public.

Learn some worthwhile tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle by attending the First Hawaiian Bank Big Island PrimeTime Wellness Fair on Thursday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Edith Kanaka‘ole Stadium and Aunty Sally’s Luau Hale at ­­­­­350 Kalanikoa St. in Hilo. Admission is free, and the fair is open to the public.

This wellness event is sponsored as a community service by First Hawaiian Bank, and features 55 booths with a variety of exhibitors.

There will be free flu shots for members of HMSA, HMAA, UHA, Tricare and Medicare Part B beneficiaries as well as health screenings for glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure. Door prize drawings, games, and live entertainment will be scheduled throughout the fair. The grand prize drawing will be for $200 worth of gas.

Entertainment on the stage will feature a food demonstration by Derek Kurisu and George Yoshida of the local television program “Living in Paradise”; Young at Heart Line Dance group; and music and hula dancing by Maile Canario and Iwalani Woo-O’Brien and their hula groups.

Other activities at the Wellness Fair will include:

— The Mobile Notary will also be on site to notarize up to two documents per person with ID;

— Walgreens to provide Pneumovax and Whooping Cough immunizations;

— Medication reviews conducted by Mina Pharmacy, KTA Superstores Pharmacy and Catholic Charities. Just bring in a list of medications with doctors’ names or a bag with the prescription medicine bottles;

— Stroke risk assessments by Hilo Medical Group, and

— Senior IDs by the County of Hawaii.

In addition to First Hawaiian Bank, the Big Island PrimeTime Wellness Fair is co-sponsored by the County of Hawaii Elderly Activities Division and Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP. For more information call966-5801.
